Broadway Rose Theatre Company contributes to the cultural growth and educational needs of the community by providing educational and creative musical theatre opportunities for kids, teens, and adults.
Registration for our 2025 winter classes – and our spring and summer camps – is now open!
Scholarships & Financial Aid
We believe that our education programs should be accessible to anyone with an interest in musical theatre, on-stage or off.

Adults (ages 16+)
Adult Jazz Series: Beginners – Winter (Jan. 18 – Feb. 22)
Learn the classic moves of Broadway in our Adult Beginners Jazz class at Broadway Rose! Whether you’re new to the dance floor or have experience in performing, this class is a great way to get moving, let loose, and learn the basic foundations of dance. Practice makes progress so we recommend registering for the full series, but feel free to drop in for classes as your schedule allows. Each week features new choreography.

For those who are looking to take their dance skills to the next level, join Broadway Rose for our Adult Intermediate/Advanced Jazz class! If you are a seasoned dancer, have studio training, or regularly perform in musicals this is a great opportunity to hone your skills and have some fun! While we recommend registering for the whole series to get the most out of the course, you have the option to choose drop-in classes or all of them–whichever works best for you! Each week features new choreography.

Adult Tap Series: Beginners/Intermediate – Winter (Jan. 19 – Feb. 23)
In this new class, beginner and intermediate-level students alike will be able to challenge themselves and grow as dancers. Students will break down new moves to add to their repertoire and gain confidence in their tap skills while dancing along to some musical theatre classics. Since practice makes progress so we recommend registering for the full series, but feel free to drop in for classes as your schedule allows.
To feel most successful in this class, students enrolling should already have some basic tap experience. If you are looking for an true beginner level class, be sure to check out our upcoming “Intro to Tap” series taking place in March 2025.

As the resident choreographer for the Newberg High School Theater Department, Liz has had the pleasure of working on productions such as The Addams Family, Matilda, Mamma Mia!, The Spongebob Musical, Little Women, and Hello Dolly. She is currently a member of The Skylark Tappers and works as a librarian for Washington County.
Adult Tap Series: Intermediate/Advanced – Winter (Jan. 19 – Feb. 23)
Unleash your inner Broadway star with our Intermediate/Advanced Adult Tap class! This class is geared towards students who already tap at the advanced level or who have a strong, intermediate-level foundation and are looking to challenge themselves and grow. Students should be comfortable with tap moves like the flap ball change, Maxie Ford, drawback, time steps, or similar. You pick your schedule: sign up for just one class, all of them, or any combination in between!

Intro to Tap – Winter (Mar. 3 – 24)
Join us for our new tap series geared towards true beginners! This four week course will teach you the foundations of tap that you will need to confidently advance in our tap series. Classes will focus on developing foundational skills like shuffles, flaps, cramp rolls, and paradiddles. Practice makes progress and we are excited to offer this class as a safe and supportive environment for tap beginners.
Mar. 3 – 22 (4 weeks)

General Audition Workshop (Feb. 10)
This workshop will offer invaluable grounding in vital skills required for auditions and ongoing training. Participants will be armed for future auditions with tips and techniques to improve their performance.
General audition presentation, delivery, attitude, and focus will be covered and the workshop will end with a mock audition session to practice the skills learned during the class. Experience in acting is not a necessity, but would be beneficial.
Please dress in the attire you deem most appropriate for an audition and come prepared with your book of songs, two resumes with headshots, and one monologue. Students who are fully enrolled will participate in the mock audition and receive notes and guidance from Director Dan Murphy and the music director/accompanist. If you would simply like to watch and take notes you may select the “audit” option below.

Dance Audition Workshop (Feb. 11)
Broadway Rose general auditions are just around the corner! Join us for this dance-focused audition workshop where participants will get the chance to practice and gain confidence in their musical theatre dance skills. The workshop will cover a couple styles including tap so be sure to come prepared for a mock dance call with all your dance shoes and movement clothes appropriate for an audition.

Teens (ages 13 – 18)
Teen Summer Production: Les Misérables: School Edition (Jul. 28 – Aug. 16) – FULL
This camp is designed for students who are serious about pursuing musical theatre performance and are invested in developing their professional and artistic skills. The Teen Summer Production begins with two days of singing and cold reading before students are assigned roles and launched into an intensive rehearsal process. They will spend just 13 days rehearsing and mounting a full musical production which opens to public audiences in the third week of the program. Please note that in order to participate, students must be present for all performances including the closing Saturday matinee and post-show strike.

Kids Winter Showcase (Jan. 15 – Feb. 19)
In this introductory course, students will gain foundational theatrical experience in working as an ensemble, creating characters, vocal projection, and more – including bonding with fellow students through theatre games and exercises. The class will conclude with a presentation of what the students have learned. No prior experience necessary.

Kids Spring Break Camp (Mar. 24 – 28)
Our week-long program provides kids in the third, fourth, and fifth grade a fun and welcoming environment in which to explore the magic of theatre! Students will gain theatrical experience in vocal harmonies and solos, basic choreography, character development, and more, while gaining confidence as a performer and creating bonds with fellow students through team building exercises. Campers will learn five to six numbers from various musicals and the camp will culminate with a showcase of skills on the last day of class.

In this exciting summer drama program campers experience all aspects of theatre, from improvisation and theatre games to technical and performance skills. These skills are showcased during the second week of this program when campers perform for public audiences as the ensemble in a children’s theatre production of The Little Mermaid alongside a cast of professional actors.
