Sara Catherine Holder, Broadway Rose’s Patsy Cline
Along with bringing back Always…Patsy Cline to the stage as an audience favorite, Broadway Rose is excited to welcome back Sara Catherine Holder to the theater to reprise her iconic performance as Patsy Cline.
As a performer for almost 20 years, Sara Catherine got her B.A. in theatre from The University of Alabama and spent the bulk of her time focused on musical theatre performance. While she currently resides in Chicago, Sara Catherine is no stranger to the Broadway Rose stage. Previously performing in Always…Patsy Cline in 2018, 2013, and 2009, Sara Catherine has also appeared in Nite Club Confidential, A Very Merry PDX-Mas, Hairspray, The Drowsy Chaperone, and Cats.
Sara Catherine stepped into the role of Patsy Cline originally in 2005 and has performed in Oregon, Alabama, and South Carolina. She will now be making her fourth appearance as Patsy Cline at Broadway Rose. “I was 22 the first time I played her–about the same age she was when she was releasing her first singles. Now at 41, I have a very different perspective on her life and all the things she faced,” explained Sara Catherine. “I feel like this role has grown with me as Patsy has been with me at the many different stages of my life.” With a personal connection to Patsy Cline, Sara Catherine is ready to pour all her knowledge of the role and her talent into this production once again.
Aside from the opportunity to sing all of Patsy’s iconic songs, Sara Catherine’s favorite part is sharing the story of such a trailblazing woman. “Patsy was far ahead of her time and during an era when most women weren’t able to make a mark in the male-dominated industry, she did!” said Sara Catherine. “I’m all about celebrating the pluck and grit of incredible women.”

Always…Patsy Cline is based on the true story of Patsy Cline and her connection to a fan, Louise, played by Sharon Maroney. This humorous yet touching musical pays homage to Patsy Cline and her contributions to the music industry. “I am the most excited about doing this show with Sharon again,” said Sara Catherine. “This is our fourth run together and we have developed such a deep bond by doing the show together and it feels really exciting to be back together one more time.”
Working full-time for a national boutique fitness brand with two kids under the age of five, Broadway Rose is grateful to Sara Catherine for returning to Oregon for this beloved hit musical. Her children and husband have traveled to be with Sara Catherine and support her in this special opportunity.
