Director's Notes

Dan Murphy“The beauty of Hallmark movies is that you can put one on and listen while you scan the paper, cook dinner, and throw in a load of laundry. When you come back, you haven’t missed a thing. You know in the first five minutes how the next hour and a half will end, but you still go along for the ride. That’s the magic of Hallmark.”

“When we announced we were doing Five Golden Rings, there were some people who proudly exclaimed, “I love Hallmark movies,” while others quietly pulled me aside to admit, only then, that they were Hallmark fans. The great thing about this show is that anyone in your family can enjoy it—even those who don’t want to admit their admiration. Generations can come together, relax, and take a break from the busyness of the season to enjoy 90 minutes of stress-free entertainment.

This show brings beautiful scenery and tuneful, catchy songs that are sure to echo in your mind long after the show ends. At Broadway Rose, we truly cherish bringing a holiday musical to our patrons every year. There’s something special about putting on a holiday show. The decorations, the warmth, and the familiarity of it all make the theater a very special place to be during the holidays. If this is your first time here, welcome! If you join us every year, buckle up for the whimsical and magical world that is Five Golden Rings.”
