MOVING STAGES, SUMMERS AT THE DEB FENNELL
Regards from Broadway Rose
Summer 2023
Student interns build a platform on the stage at the Deb Fennell Auditorium
Each summer when we host productions at the Deb Fennell Auditorium, our crew performs the massive task of moving costumes, set pieces, props, lights, tech equipment, and other assorted paraphernalia over to this seasonal venue.
Here are just a few of the stats we collected on the massive move for our first summer production, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat:
- Technical Director Raef Wheaton spent 70 hours coordinating and planning the move for Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.
- It took our staff, crew, and 20 interns a busy 3 days to load all of the equipment, including set, lights, sound, costumes, and more for Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat into the Deb Fennell.
- Once everything was inside, it took 80 hours to build the set.
- It took 60 hours to paint the stage and set pieces.
- We put in place 140 lights/lighting instruments.
- The network that allows us to control lights and sound used over 1,000 feet of cable.
- Our sound crew set up 22 speakers.
Thank you to our amazing staff, crew, and interns for all your hard work!
